PTIA Skills Training Courses

PTIA anticipates that the new Certificate III in Post-Tensioning will be approved early in 2013. Details of the units of competency in this qualification can be found in our Newsletter Issue 2 2012 opposite.

The following three units have been presented by PTIA for some years:

CPCCSF3002ACarry out Mono Strand Post-tensioning
CPCCSF3003ACarry out Multi Strand Post-tensioning
CPCCSF3004ACarry out Stress Bar Post-tensioning

These units are progressively being uploaded to a web based learning platform, with the first already available.

Through this learning platform, students can apply to undertake the Mono Strand unit of competency and, upon registration, will receive the training and assessment materials required, including Training Manual and Student Learning Log. This course is provided through ACI Global, an ISO 29990 International Learning Service Provider, through an agreement with PTIA. For access to this course please click here

The ‘Carry out Mono Strand Post-tensioning’ unit will meet the requirements of recent Enterprise Bargaining Agreements in NSW, and on successful completion the student will be issued with a Certificate of Competence and a PTIA card certifying completion.

Corporate Members of PTIA receive substantial discounts on the course fee, as they will provide their own accredited assessors who will assess and verify the student’s onsite learning and abilities.

For non PTIA members, a PTIA assessor can be provided, and the cost of this is reflected in the non-member course fee.

More details about the nature and content of this course are contained in PTIA Web Based Training Scheme.
