New post-tensioning scheme launched to boost construction sector
Australia’s construction sector is set to benefit from the introduction of rigorous new standards for post-tensioning.
The PTIA have worked closely with CARES and the Australian Post-Tensioning Scheme has now launched.
The new scheme covers contractors installing post-tensioning systems, producers of prestressing anchors and prebagged grout, plus firms that carry out remedial grouting of post-tensioned tendons.
The new standards, which are specifically designed to provide greater assurance in construction supply chains nationwide, are backed by an independent certification scheme – providing complete transparency and clarity for manufacturers and contractors.

Barangaroo, Sydney NSW
SRG Global worked alongside Leandlease for Barangaroo South and Barangaroo Reserve over a 5 year period installing more than 2,500 tonnes of post-tensioning.
Emirates Towers, Dubai UAE
SRG Global provided post-tensioning and slipform construction for this 354.6m tall building in Dubai. The Emirates tower was the eighth tallest building in the world when it was built in 1999.
